Shannyn was born in Hawaii in 1978, raised in Reno, Nevada since 1982, and moved to L.A. with friends in 1996 to study dance. A casting director noticed her when she was helping a friend DJ at a birthday party for Gwyneth Paltrow in October 1999. Six months after being "discovered", Shannyn was cast as the fair maiden Jocelyn opposite Heath Ledger in A Knight's Tale. She likes to perform what she describes as "jazz, crazy modern, and hip-hop" dancing, but wishes she had stuck with tap and ballet from when she was younger. She continues to DJ classic rock and '80s tunes.
She's Hawaiian, French, Dutch, Filipino, Irish and German. She used to get a hundred bucks by DJ-ing in little lounges every Tuesday night. Her sister, Jennifer Lindberg is trying to follow her steps. Hopefully we'll get to see her soon ;) They share a house in L.A.
She has 3 tattoos, a 'S' with a flower, word "Believe" with 2 eyes over. Totally beautiful on her!
She danced all throughout high school, competing for three years. She loved many forms of dance including jazz, ballet, lyrical and tap. Shannyn attended Dance Unlimited and trained under Gina Hernandez. She says she loved it there. She was dancing four days a week and some day, she wanted to dance professionally--this was her dream.

She dated Dallas Clayton, a kick-box instructor in 2002/2003. She gave birth to her first child, Audio Science Clayton. After "The Order" in 2003, she took a small break from her career, probably because of her new motherhood. She came back in 2005 , with some new small roles in some upcoming movies.
In 2007, Shannyn is now the drummer of a band called "WarPain" with sister Jennifer, and friend Theresa Wayman (from The Rules Of Attraction) and . The group got their MySpace
In 2008, Shannyn started to work on a new personnal project called "Maudegone" wich includes her works and her friends works like photograhy, videos and much more. She worked herself on a website.
