Imdb says Shannyn is making a film called Wild East.  I see on Amazon that Road To Nowhere will be out on DVD towards the end of August.

I believe this Wild East is just a new title for that Come the assassin movie that is never going to get made. I don't mean to sound pissed off on here but I really really think it is time for Shannyn to fire her agent or manager!
I mean last year she was barely in How to make it in America and I am hearing now that she is not going to even be in the second season-completely insulting-thats just A
B would be the fact that she worked on one film in 2010 and that was The Day and while her part maybe okay? It doesn't appear to be the starring role-and it is now 2011 and she hasn't worked on a film since the Untitled Mark Webber Project which completed filming in January.
So she works on one film a year-90% of the time it doesn't even make it to wide release-if she does another film-its a smaller role and its not as respected to her talent as the other film was which most of us on here probably won't even get to see. I can't tell you just how sick of this I am-it has been almost 7 years since she started acting again after the birth of her little boy-so what the heck is going on?Huh Really? I seriously didn't want to believe it but somebody on here said I think Hollywood is punishing her for having a kid so early on in her career-I 100% believe it now! the talent and beauty in this actress is terrific and she can't get more then maybe one or two films a year that don't even make it to theaters??? Huh? And she has never once been on a tv show that was respectfull to her talent and gave her the work she deserved. I am sorry but that is just too weird-I hope I am wrong but I am getting extremely impatient waiting for Hollywood to pull there heads out of there asses and give this woman the break she so richly deserves.
Sorry to vent but I know for a fact I am not the only one.

Your are certainly not the only one. It is frustrating. I don't understand why there isn't more demand for her. She strikes me as the sort of actress who selects projects pretty carefully and there is a LOT of rubbish in Hollywood. Most people I know here in the UK know who she is, she seems to be almost a cult actress. Maybe she tries to spend as much time with her son as possible? Or maybe she is developing personal projects. She seems to be very light hearted and I find her approach pretty refreshing. I just wish we would see her in more great movies we all know she belongs in. Having said all this, I feel like she may be turning a corner. I watched Road To Nowhere last week and seriously... Its her strongest performance yet. I think most people think she is best in Wristcutters and Rules but I reckon there was a lot of Shannyn herself in those performances if that makes sense. In RTN she just blew me away... She is so elegant, mature and subdued yet still has this underlying quirk. Its going to make people take notice, I just know it. Its great to see her in very long take scenes, just completely owning the frame. If she doesn't get more interesting offers after this then I really don't get what is going on.

I was the one that made the statement about someone powerful being mad at her. She does need a new agent.  She has looks and talent, but someone not too smart is promoting her.  Maybe she needs to dig deeper into her pockets for a better agent.  Basically - while Road To Nowhere might be great - she has not had a major role since One Missed Call in 2008.

I am willing to bet also that How to make it in America gets cancelled after this season if Shannyn isn't in it. Dirt had great ratings and of course her character wasn't in the second season and look what happened the show got cancelled and lets not forget Moonlight-that show had an entourage of fans but Shannyn was not in the last four episodes and I cannot tell you how many times I read people saying if they don't bring Coraline back soon I refuse to watch this show again-look what happened-it was cancelled-big shocker there! Even though people don't know who she is as a name yet they want to see this woman on the screen-movie or tv because she is a natural and when her characters are disrespected or taken off early the shows get cancelled-I love it-I think it is deserving-if a tv producer or writer can't see something that is that blatantly obvious he or she shouldn't be in that business because they obviously don't have the first clue of what they are doing. On a lighter note check out this article-I hope this is true-both of these films sound so interesting

I think it is true. I read last year that she was expected to make three films for Monte.  That's great, but these are indies.  I would like to see her make some big movies too - only because she deserves the exposure.
